Rapier Sword

The shape is unique, mostly on hilt part of the sword. And it is also part where i mostly confused how i place the UV maps, because the shape is so cool. Hilt part is also the first part i made.

I made this from basic shape of hilt, then use subdivision modifier. Move to the handle, the last is the blade. Then i work on the lowpoly. Final result of the lowpoly contains 6,686 tris. Next is UV mapping which is always confusing but this time is really makes me think... on which lines should i mark seam. but finally i made it.

And ready for texturing. I haven't really mastered Substance Painter so the texturing part is so quick(I mean i didn't add complicated things..). I just put materials to each color id, and add some imperfect detail like rust.

Last thing is rendering. I use the Blender's Eevee engine this time. First i set up the scene HDRI background, then import the models(of the sword and flintlock pistol) and setup their material.
